Usually in compromising liens on personal injury/malpractice e settlement, a creditor must pay its proportion of the attorney’s fees. Such that the client is not forced to pay the attorney to collect reimbursement for instance, for the client’s medical insurance carrier. A major exception however lies in payment of hospital bills not paid by the medical insurance. The hospital is entitled to recover its entire bill without reimbursing the client for his expense in hiring the attorney.
